Four Awarded ASABE–CNH Industrial Scholarships

ASABE is pleased to announce this year's four winners of the ASABE–CNH Industrial Undergraduate Scholarship. Each will receive a scholarship worth $2500 to use toward their degrees in agricultural and biological engineering and related fields.

The winners are:

Riley Eckhardt, University of Nebraska–Lincoln, agricultural engineering major
Laura Landis, Texas A&M University, biological and agricultural engineering major
Savannah Roth, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, biosystems engineering major
Tristan Their, Iowa State University, agricultural systems technology major

Students were judged, in part, on responses to questions about CNH Industrial, ASABE, and the benefit of membership in a professional organization. All of the winners are engaged in their ASABE student chapters and credit that involvement in helping prepare them for their careers. Laura Landis wrote of her time spent at last year's ASABE annual international meeting. "I had the chance to meet people from all different sides of both academia and industry and learn about the new developments and standards in the world of agriculture," she said, adding that "in the span of three days, I feel that I accomplished and learned more than I could have in three months on my own."

Excellence in innovation, sustainability, efficiency, and food security were common themes among the winners' observations of the profession and of CNH. Besides being a good steward to the environment, wrote Savannah Roth, CNH Industrial is "committed to delivering the highest ethical standards and supporting their dealers and customers through a diverse and inclusive workforce, which is greatly needed in engineering. They have also aligned themselves with six of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring that they uphold themselves with metrics and accountability. "

"Our scholarship winners give us all reason to be optimistic about the future of the profession," says Darrin Drollinger, executive director of ASABE. "We are grateful to CNH Industrial for their partnership and support in developing the talent necessary to fulfill our shared vision of a sustainable, global bioeconomy.”

The scholarships were made possible by the generous support of CNH Industrial, a world-class equipment and services company that sustainably advances the noble work of agricultural and construction workers.

ASABE is an international educational organization dedicated to the advancement of engineering applicable to agricultural, food, and biological systems.
